Hotel Moderno - Pavia

The breakfast offered authentic Italian choices with barista-made coffee that kick-started my day.

Some noise from the nearby railway and bus station was noticeable, making it hard to fully relax in the evenings.

The room was stylish and large on the lowest level 131 etc, had essentials required. The location turned out to be great, near thi, four star establishment, ones that are thoroughly medicore and the highway exit from Milan and the center of Pavia. Ate at Arby's, it's relatively near the venue.

The hotel was pretty standard and stylish with very good wifi. The beds where exceptionally comfortable and each fashionable and large room had WiFi and a safe box. Got the view of street. The service was good with an efficient check-in...

Read this before you make a decision

The staff were kind, even providing breakfast at 5:15 AM for our early train! The room was comfortable, with a cozy sofa and coffee-making facilities for relaxation.

While the location is convenient, noise from the street was bothersome during the night. The outdated decor.

I was sooooo looking forward to my stay, but no door between the bed and corridor? Absoluteley ridiculous! No tea-making facility either. Plus, the staff for dinner were unfriendly after my menu request. I almost thought of giving a good review but just couldn't appreciate such shoddiness. Definitley not what I expected from a 'modern' hotel.

Everything was perfect during 1 day, really enjoyed its best possible and handy location close to Milano. Authentic cuisine was served in the attached restaurant.

Excellent hotel, with good food in their dining room. Great location in that it is across square from the Train Station, and only 2 blocks from the bus terminal where bus terminates on route from Certosa di Pavia Carthusian Monistary, the main reason we visited Pavia. Took taxi out to Monistary, but difficult getting return taxi, so bus worked great. Would difinitely stay in Moderno Hotel again.

The automated revolving door entry is somewhat a challenge when using and trying to trail a carry-on suitcase. Could not get the TV in the living room to work, but bedroom TV worked fine, only had channels in Italian.

Friendly staff and great air conditioning, but room was quite basic and cramped.

Central location. Standard of fittings & comfort excellent.Great view of trees outside the window. Breakfast good. Parking on street and in internal courtyard when the street parking was not available.

WiFi far too expensive.You have to pay for 30-60 minutes in a stretch for 8 Euros but may only need it for 5-minutes every day. Free WiFi available at the railway station but a hotel of this standard should provide it as part of their guest service in the 21st century.For security I only do banking on my own computer.

The staff exhibited kindness and flexibility. I appreciated the option to pre-book a parking space that was conveniently close. The breakfast spread was good, with fresh pastries that paired perfectly with my coffee.

The room felt somewhat basic and lacked a few amenities you'd expect from a modern hotel.

The style and quality of the room was excellent. The superior double room was very romantic! The hotel restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
